Empty As The Grave
It happened in the garden first
The enemy tried to bend Your word
From the mouth of the deceiver
Said the fruit was even sweeter
And that you'd never break the curse
That lie is empty, empty, empty as the grave
You claimed every victory when the stone was rolled away
Even death has lost its sting
Lost it's power over me
That lie is empty, empty, empty
Empty as the grave
The day You walked the wilderness
Hell tried to find it's voice again
Tempted Jesus with an altar
Said the world's what he could offer
And said you couldn't conquer sin
That lie is empty, empty, empty as the grave
You claimed every victory when the stone was rolled away
Even death has lost its sting
Lost it's power over me
That lie is empty, empty, empty
Empty as the grave
No, the nails weren't strong enough
To keep you there
When you gave your life for us
Even death ran scared
When they sealed the tomb
That they laid you in
Hell said it was the end
But that lie is empty, empty, empty as the grave
Oh, You claimed every victory when the stone was rolled away
Even death has lost its sting
Lost it's power over me
// That lie is empty, empty, empty //
/// Empty as the grave ///
